"LISTING IS A DISTRACTION" - SMITH

Further to the news that Madras College's Kilrymont Road building has been "B" listed by Historic Scotland, North East Fife MSP, Iain Smith has remarked that, "There will be many who would question whether the Kilrymont Road building has the architectural merit to justify listing. However, This listing is a distraction from the real task in hand which is to provide high quality education for our young people."

"What is important is getting modern schools to meet the needs of pupils in St Andrews and the Tay Bridgehead, namely, a new single site school in St Andrews and another to serve the Tay Bridgehead area," concluded Mr Smith.
