SMITH WELCOMES REMOVAL OF TOLLS

12.00.00am GMT Fri 21st Dec 2007

North East Fife MSP Iain Smith has warmly welcomed the removal of the tolls on the Tay and Forth Road bridges.

Speaking from the Scottish Parliament after decision time, Mr Smith said, "This is great news for the people of North east Fife, who for too long have been held prisoner by the tolls on the two bridges leading out of Fife.

"This is something for which I have been campaigning for a long time and am delighted that it has now come to fruition."
