SMITH CONGRATULATES NEW ST ANDREWS UNIVERISTY PRINCIPAL

North East Fife MSP Iain Smith has voiced his congratulations to new principal of St Andrews University Dr Louise Richardson.

Dr Richardson will take over from retiring principal Dr Brian Lang in January 2009.

Commenting Iain Smith said, "I offer my most profound congratulations to Dr Richardson and welcome her to St Andrews.

It is an exciting time for her to be joining St Andrews University as it prepares to celebrate its 600th Anniversary and is embarking on an ambitious development programme which will take it forward into its next 600 years."
