12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Wed 11th Jun 2008

North East Fife Parliamentarians Iain Smith MSP and Sir Menzies Campbell MP have called for a full inquiry into the missing details of 50 North East Fife teachers that were sent recorded delivery to Disclosure Scotland.

Commenting, Sir Menzies and Mr Smith said, "Questions must be asked as to why both Disclosure Scotland and Fife Council did not realise immediately that each application was not accounted for. It is imperative that these missing documents are traced and recovered as a matter of utmost urgency.

"We are available to offer help and advice to any teacher who has been affected by this matter."
